Education for Girls and Women at Risk after US leaves Afghanistan

As the United States and its NATO allies withdraw their final troops and contractors, ending America’s longest-ever war, fears are growing about what happens to the country after. Female teachers, students, and local officials in Taliban-controlled areas say that the Taliban group has over the last year already cut access to school for thousands of teenage girls, This could be the end of education for generations of women and girls in Afghanistan with the group controlling almost half the country, ruled by its own definition of Islamic law.
