Humanitarian aid arrives in Mozambique from Portugal and Italy

The first batch of Humanitarian aid from Portugal and Italy arrived on Saturday 3 July 2021, with two more flights of the aid in Que, the aid being provided to support the populations affected by the conflict.

The people in this province have been terrorized for more than three years, the humanitarian situation is rapidly deteriorating, with over 2 million people facing food shortages. The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation António Njanje said that there are no basic conditions of survival: food, shelters and other types of basic needs.

Francisco André called for the involvement of the other European Union member states, saying ” It is very important that other European and non-European states join us in this effort to help the populations of Mozambique, especially in the Cabo Delgado area”.
