Ugandan Nantional budget financial year 2021/2022

The budget speech for the financial year 2021/2022 was delivered, by the incoming state minister of planning at the ministry of finance, planning, and Economic Development, Amos Lugolobi.

The allocation shows that 6.9 trillion shillings will go to the security sector, human capital development which includes health and education takes 7.3 trillion shillings, integrated transport infrastructure and services will have 5 trillion shillings, 1.6 trillion shillings will be allocated to the industrialization of the agriculture sector and regional development will take 1.2 trillion shillings.

Sustainable Energy Development and Development plan implementation will each take 1.1 trillion shillings respectively.

The theme of this budget is “Industrialization for Inclusive Growth, Employment, and Wealth Creation” with its main focus being to ensure that the economy recovers and achieves faster inclusive growth and enhanced socio-economic development.

Overall, the total national budget as passed by parliament stands at 44.7 trillion shillings
